Policy advice in environmental and climate protection (PAKLIM)

© GIZ, PAKLIM

The PAKLIM programme supports the Indonesian Government in planning and implementing its climate strategies and consists of four components:

  • Climate policy advice at national level: The programme is helping to improve the policy framework for the introduction of national strategies for climate change adaptation and GHG reduction. Support is also given for the creation of an internationally recognised measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) system.
  • GHG reduction and adaptation to climate change in provinces and cities
  • GHG reduction and improved energy efficiency in industry: The programme promotes the mutually supportive collaboration with private industry using a number of different financing mechanisms, such as development partnerships with the private sector, as well as through the preparation of nationally appropriate mitigation actions, or NAMAs.
  • Environmental/climate education: Since early 2013 the programme has been supporting the introduction of a Green School concept.
