In 2017 GIZ, the World Bank Group, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) published the International Framework for Eco-Industrial Parks to create a standardized framework for EIP implementation that can be adopted globally and to support policymakers and practitioners in operationalizing the EIP Framework, support decision-making within the EIP, fostering continuous improvements, far beyond the level of compliance with national and local regulations.
